Member Bios

Stephen Aguilar

Dr. Stephen J. AguiIar is an Assistant Professor at the USC Rossier School of Education, in the Educational Psychology concentration. His areas of expertise include motivation and self-regulated learning as they relate to the design and implementation of educational technologies. He specializes in learning analytics, the digital equity gap, and gameful approaches to teaching and learning.

Anamely Salgado

Anamely graduated from Rice University in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Previously, Anamely worked within the IDEA Public Schools as a tutor, where she assisted teachers with classwork and college application submissions. Anamely has also provided guidance for students through tutoring in the areas of ACT and TSI testing. She is currently focusing on work dedicated to understand student activism through a motivational lens.

Yiming Sheng

Yiming is a fourth year undergraduate student studying psychology and data science. Her academic interest includes learning efficacy and human-computer interaction.

Leslie Compean

Leslie Compean is a third year business administration undergrad student interested in educational psychology and analytics. She hopes to apply the knowledge from her research to work in industry and help develop strategies for underserved communities to feel comfortable in corporate environments.

Max McGrath

Maximilian McGrath is a third-year undergraduate student studying cognitive science and data science. As someone who has been passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, he hopes to apply his analytical skills to develop strategies for underrepresented populations.
